Yael Cardwell
Yael is driven by a deep curiosity about how people think, decide, and navigate complex systems – especially when the systems feel intimidating or unclear.
With over a decade of experience in research and consumer insights, she brings a structured yet human centered approach to understanding behavior. Her work blends quantitative rigor with qualitative depth, uncovering not just what people do, but why they do it – and how those insights can shape better decisions, products, and experiences. She thrives when uncovering research that leads to impact.
Her background spans work with Fortune 500 companies across financial and technology sectors, where clarity, accuracy, and strategic thinking are essential. Alongside her research work, Yael is also a financial educator and founder, focused on making investing more accessible and less overwhelming through thoughtful design and simplified learning.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
+ Yael has led and contributed to research initiatives for major organizations including Microsoft, Google, and Bank of America – supporting work across product development, pricing strategy, and user experience.
+ She specializes in mixed-methodology research, combining quantitative tools (segmentation, MaxDiff, conjoint, and pricing analysis) with qualitative approaches to build wholistic pictures of consumer behavior and drive organizational level decisions.
+ Her work has explored how individuals make financial decisions, where confusion and friction emerge, and how messaging and design can better support confidence and action. Across projects, Yael focuses on turning signals from data into clear, actionable action points that organizations can actually use.
EDUCATION & OTHER FUN STUFF
Yael holds a background in research and consumer insights, with a career built through hands on experience designing and leading studies across industries. With a degree in Sociology from the University of Michigan, she places importance on understanding the systems that shape and impact individual perceptions and decisions.
She is currently studying for the Series 65 license as a part of her continued focus on financial systems, investing, and decision-making.
Outside of research, Yael is:

- A founder building a financial education platform focused on simplifying investing and options trading education
